CURIOUS GEORGE⢠SWINGS TO GOLD!
SANTA CLARA, Calif., (January 9, 2006) â Global video games developer and publisher, NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today announced Curious George⢠has gone gold for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Xbox® video game system, Nintendo GameCubeâ¢, Game Boy® Advance and PC. An action adventure title, based on the February 10th animated feature film of the same name from Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, Curious George invites players to experience madcap mishaps and mischievous fun as the worldâs most inquisitive chimp. Curious George will be available February 1st and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.
For more than 60 years, children and adults alike have followed the tales of the lovable little Curious George â known for his insatiable inquisitiveness and taste for adventure. The story begins as The Man with the Yellow Hat travels to Africa in search of a lost artifact and returns with some unexpected cargo â a precocious chimpanzee named George.
Curious George allows players to meet and interact with their favorite characters from the animated film in this exciting and colorful game world. As the fun-loving George, players can run, jump, climb and swing through 12 action-packed levels including the jungle, museum and Big City. Players must also use the characterâs skills, which include crafty escapes and distracting performances, to elude trouble and avoid one entertaining predicament after another. Throughout Georgeâs big adventure, players are encouraged to be curious and explore the âCurious Objectsâ in each environment â drawers to peek in, machines to activate, trunks to pop open and even chairs to bounce on! Interacting with these objects awards players âCurious Points,â which enable them to purchase items in the Museum Gift Shop including concept art, scenes from the animated movie and accessories for George. Curious George also features bonus features, special unlockables and challenging mini-games to provide players hours of replay after the main story is finished.
âWe are excited to be one step closer bringing this lovable character to life in console and handheld video games,â said Jeff Lujan, business director at NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. âBy working together with Universal, weâre taking a fresh approach to a classic brand â offering plenty of fun, curiosity and family-oriented gameplay.â
Curious George is developed for consoles and the PC by Monkey Bar Games and for handheld gaming systems by Torus Games through a licensing agreement with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group.
