SAN DIEGO, CA., September 25, 2006 – Headplay, Inc. (“HEADPLAY”), a Los Angeles-based visual entertainment and technology company, today announced the unveiling of the HEADPLAY Personal Cinema System - a portable, visual headset and media center that delivers an immersive, high resolution, cinematic, big screen experience for gaming, movie watching and Internet use. The company was selected to reveal the HEADPLAY Personal Cinema System at the DEMOfall 2006 conference, an insider-only event considered the premier venue for launching new and emerging technology innovations.

The HEADPLAY Personal Cinema System redefines the portable media device category, empowering consumers to realize the “anytime–anywhere” potential of personal entertainment choice. Connecting directly to game consoles, DVD players, iPods, PCs and cell phones, the Personal Cinema System is capable of reading stored media using compact flash or USB and via a universal adapter to use SD, XD, Memory Stick or Smart Media. The Personal Cinema System provides universal compatibility with hardware platforms worldwide. In addition, the Personal Cinema System displays, with content availability, true stereoscopic 3D.

“Portable media devices are making a tremendous impact on consumers’ consumption of entertainment content, but up until now the viewing experience has been limited by screen size,” said Glen Ward, Co-CEO of HEADPLAY, Inc. “The HEADPLAY Personal Cinema System makes great entertainment even better by delivering an immersive, cinema-screen experience for game playing, movie watching and Internet use.”

The Personal Cinema System is comprised of three major components: the Viewer, the Liberator and the Navigator.

The Viewer

The Viewer, or headset, is worn by the user and displays a virtual 52” screen, providing an immersive, movie theatre-like experience. The Viewer is being designed by industrial design firm, IDEO, to provide the ultimate style and comfort for extended wear and viewing. It allows for the simultaneous use of a game controller or keyboard and weighs a mere five ounces. The Viewer incorporates truly amazing optical technologies, such as a LCOS micro display and it will support various resolution levels including 640 X 480, 800 X 600 and 1024 X 768. HEADPLAY’s patented technology delivers separate but identical images to each eye from a single micro display, thereby reducing eye-strain.

The Liberator

The Liberator is both the brains and the heart of the Personal Cinema System. The Liberator is battery-powered to deliver up to 6 hours of playtime between charges. It accepts a composite video, component video and S-video signal in the formats of NTSC, PAL and SECAM. It also enjoys universal connectivity, making it compatible with virtually any device that has video out, including video game consoles, DVD players, video iPods, PCs, cell phones and USB storage devices such as an old iPod, thumbdrives or any MP3 player. Just plug and play, with no special drivers required.

The Liberator also runs the software for managing the system and allows for reading and displaying content read through its Compact Flash slot or two USB host ports. It can also accommodate universal adapters to allow reading from SD, X, X, so users can get their content to go and are free to enjoy it without requiring any additional hardware beyond the HEADPLAY Personal Cinema System itself.

The Navigator

The Navigator is a tethered remote control that allows the user to select and control content and screen settings. It also serves as the connection point for the Personal Cinema System’s high-performance, noise-suppression ear-buds that will be available with the product.

Digital Distribution

Digital distribution is the future for virtually all entertainment, and the HEADPLAY Personal Cinema System offers content providers unique partnership opportunities that will enhance their content via a cinematic medium.

The HEADPLAY Personal Cinema System will be available to consumers in Q1 2007.

PLAYSTATION®3 News From Tokyo Game Show

A few hours ago at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kutaragi delivered a visionary keynote to a standing-room only crowd. Below is a summary of his remarks for those who could not attend. Additionally, please find the attached news release issued by Sony following the keynote speech.

* The launch of the PLAYSTATION®3 signals an evolution in gaming and entertainment with a particular emphasis on the importance of online networking as the key driver for growth in the industry. The gaming and entertainment business is no longer limited to a static, disc-based world. It is a living, breathing community enabled by the power of the PS3 to connect seamlessly to the vast world of information, content and interpersonal interactivity only available online.

* As the power of networking is realized through systems such as PS3, user interaction, including user-created and -influenced content will be increasingly relevant in the development of entertainment across the industry. The PS3 has the capability to allow creators of entertainment content direct access to their end consumer, which is something that was not possible in the past. It is easy to imagine the potential this represents for the interactive entertainment industry.

* The video game industry needs to think in a bigger way, utilizing technological innovation to its fullest in the development of entertainment content. The Internet and global networking provide an incredibly rich environment from which to create new experiences for the consumer. The giant steps forward we are seeing enabled by the PS3 are just the tip of the iceberg of what is possible when you match the most advanced technologies with full network capability.

* The computing power of the PS3 is unmatched and has garnered the interest of industries outside the gaming and entertainment worlds. Even today, IBM researchers are working on ways to harness the power of the PS3 networks and access computing capacity through 16,000 PS3 cell processors to address such medical problems as Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. Using the processing power of networked PS3 units around the world to create one massive computer to process complex calculations presents enormous opportunities in a variety of applications.

* Based on the explosive growth of consumer demand for high-definition entertainment over the past year alone, Sony has decided to include HDMI output in the 20GB SKU of PS3. This will allow our valued PlayStation consumers to experience true next-generation gaming without compromise.

Nintendo's Incomparable Wii Console Launches Nov. 19; MSRP $249.99

NEW YORK, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Nintendo will reshape the home entertainment and video game landscape with the launch of its heralded Wii(TM) home video game console. The Americas will lead the worldwide launch on Nov. 19. Wii will be sold as an affordable, mass-consumer product at an MSRP of just $249.99. The price includes one wireless Wii Remote controller, one Nunchuk(TM) controller and the groundbreaking collection of five different Wii Sports games on one disc, which anyone can play using simple movements, experienced or not.

Every Wii console includes another distinctive feature: a series of on-screen "channels" that make up the Wii Channel Menu, which makes the console approachable and customizable for everyone, from the most avid gamer to people who have never played before. The Wii Channel Menu is the starting point for all of the console's functions. The "channels" offer a gateway to a rich variety of entertainment options. When connected to a TV, the Wii Channel Menu offers a simple interface, letting users pick games to play, get news or weather, view and send photos or even create playable caricatures of themselves to use in actual games. Additional functions allow users to redeem Wii Points and download classic games to Wii's Virtual Console(TM). The variety of options available through the Wii Channel Menu motivates both gamers and non-gamers to turn on Wii's power every day.
Wii is creating worldwide excitement with its unique control system, an inventive, first-of-its-kind controller whose position can be detected in a 3-D space. The new controller allows users to pinpoint targets in games or move through the Wii Channel Menu with precision and ease. This intuitive control system will be understood immediately by everyone, regardless of their previous experience with video games. With this one small controller, Wii makes games both easier and more intense than anything previously experienced. For example, in the Wii Sports tennis game, players swing the Wii Remote like a racket to hit the ball, as in real life. They can add topspin or slice the ball just by angling their hands and wrist like they would in a real match.
"Wii reinvents games for the devoted player," says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. "But more importantly, Wii breaks the wall separating players from non-players by delivering the best game experiences for the most affordable price. We believe the next leap is games for the masses -- young and old, gamer or non, alone, with a friend or with the whole family."
Fils-Aime made his remarks in New York, shortly after Nintendo executives in Japan announced Wii will launch there on Dec. 2.
Between launch day and Dec. 31, Wii owners will enjoy a robust lineup of 30 software titles, with selections for everyone from video game veterans to newcomers. Some top Nintendo launch titles include Wii Sports, a compilation of tennis, baseball, golf, bowling and boxing; The Legend of Zelda(R): Twilight Princess; and EXCITE TRUCK(TM). While publishers are free to set their own prices for games, first-party Nintendo titles will have an MSRP of $49.99. Wii's self-loading media bay also can play the entire library of more than 530 Nintendo GameCube(TM) titles from day one.
Third-party developers around the world have lined up to provide unprecedented support for Wii.
"I believe the Wii will attract new and casual gamers to the world of interactive entertainment," says Larry Probst, Chairman and CEO, Electronic Arts. "It's a fun, easy and economical system that will become a bridge to gaming for mainstream audiences. At EA, we are putting more support behind the Wii than any Nintendo hardware launch since the Super NES."
"The Wii is changing audience interaction, opening up whole new experiences that have never been possible in video games," says Robert Kotick, Chairman and CEO, Activision, Inc. "With the instinctual control of the Wii Remote, Nintendo is advancing the gaming experience to the broadest audience of gamers. Activision is excited about the launch of the Wii and the opportunity it offers. So much so, we plan to have five titles available at launch -- our strongest lineup ever for a new console. We have more development resources devoted to the Wii than to any previous Nintendo platform. The Wii is likely to have a profound impact on the size, growth and overall opportunities for the video game market."
"The Wii control scheme opens up unexplored areas for our talented teams to innovate when creating games," says Laurent DeToc, President of Ubisoft North America. "It's invigorating for us. We believe that it will help create a new level of interest in video games and engage more players around the world."
Additional information about the list of Virtual Console games and the pricing structure will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The worldwide innovator in the creation of interactive entertainment, Nintendo Co., Ltd., of Kyoto, Japan, manufactures and markets hardware and software for its Nintendo DS(TM), Game Boy(R) Advance and Nintendo GameCube(TM) systems, and upcoming Wii(TM) console. Since 1983, Nintendo has sold nearly 2.2 billion video games and more than 375 million hardware units globally, and has created industry icons like Mario(TM), Donkey Kong(R), Metroid(R), Zelda(TM) and Pokemon(R). A wholly owned subsidiary, Nintendo of America Inc., based in Redmond, Wash., serves as headquarters for Nintendo's operations in the Western Hemisphere.
