Vets Nationwide Contributed Real-Life Animal Health Care Scenarios

LOS ANGELES - Jan. 31, 2008 - Legacy Interactive today released the
downloadable version of /Farm Vet/, a PC simulation game for animal
lovers. Vivendi Games will publish a retail version of the game next
month. Whether the horse has dislocated its knee or the cow has choked
on an apple, players who download /Farm Vet/ can be sure they're getting
the real deal. /Farm Vet/ centers around a player character who faces
real-life animal care situations in order to build experience and train
to become the virtual farm's primary veterinarian by the end of the
game. In order to create all of the animal health care situations
players experience in the game, the team at Legacy Interactive tapped
into a community of veterinarians through online channels.

*Tapping Into Vets Nationwide*
Veterinarians across the country were asked to submit real-life
scenarios and challenges they had faced in their own practices and only
the best and most interesting cases were selected. The resulting
detailed vet simulations were written by real working vets from their
own personal case files. In addition to treating their ailments, players
must also provide their basic care including feeding, watering and
walking and/or playing with the animals.

"/Farm Vet /is an informative, interactive case study program that I
hope will ignite an interest in animal medicine. The diseases
illustrated in this game are carefully researched examples of what are
routinely encountered by farm animal veterinarians," said Nampa,

*Playing the Part of Farm Vet*
In /Farm Vet/, the player character is a young teenager who has taken a
job on a farm run by the local veterinarian. The player is challenged
with building a thriving, healthy farm and treating enough animal cases
to become a full-fledged vet, through the tutelage of the owner and the
player's mentor. Players are free to explore and move around the
real-time 3D farm environment as they heal sick animals, play fun
farm-themed mini-games such as milking, horseback riding and egg
collecting, as well as playing with and providing overall care for the
animals. As the player gains confidence and has a few cases under their
belt, the world expands to include more locations and new mini-games. If
each level is completed successfully, the player receives promotions and
eventually assumes full control of the farm.

World War II strategy game /Men of War/. /Men of War/ is the sequel to

The Ghosts are being sent in to quell this uprising before it starts. They must first stop the rebel incursions over the two nations' shared border and then hunt down the rebel leaders one by one. If they fail, America's efforts in the region could be set back by decades.

§ Azcona's squads are using the nearby caves as an operational base for raiding army convoys across the river. Detain and extract the rebel leader and recon the area for any hidden weapon caches.

game publishers, reported its sales for the third fiscal quarter ended D=

Sales for the third quarter of 2007-08 came to ?450 ($625.81) million, up=
44.4 percent, or 50.1 percent at constant exchange rates, compared with =
the ?311 ($432.50) million recorded for the same period of 2006-07. Sales=
for the first nine months of fiscal 2007-08 totaled ?711 ($988.78) milli=
on versus ?483 ($671.70) million in the corresponding period of 2006-07, =
representing an increase of 47.2 percent, or 52.1 percent at constant exc=
hange rates.

Third-quarter sales outstripped the guidance that was raised to ?410 ($57=

Fourth-quarter 2007-08 sales
This period will see the following main releases:=20
? Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six=AE Vegas 2 for PC, the Xbox360(TM) system and =
the PLAYSTATION=AE3 computer entertainment system;
? Assassin's Creed for PC and the Nintendo DS(TM);
? The game based on the Lost(TM) television series, for PC, the PLAYSTATI=
ON=AE3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox360(TM) system; and
? New casual games for the Nintendo DS(TM) and Nintendo Wii(TM).

Haze(TM), which was originally scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2007-0=
8, will now be released in fiscal 2008-09.

The Group expects sales for the fourth quarter of 2007-08 to total around=
?165 ($229.46) million, representing a 16 percent contraction compared w=
ith the same period of 2006-07.

Targets revised upwards for 2007-08 and 2008-09
In light of the Group's third-quarter performance and initial positive tr=
ends for the fourth quarter of the year, Ubisoft has raised its performan=
ce targets for full-year 2007-08. The 2007-08 sales target is now approxi=
mately ?875 million ($1b 216m) compared with the forecast of ?840 million=
($1b 168m) announced on December 13, 2007, and the Group expects current=
operating income before stock options to represent at least 13 percent o=
f sales, versus the previous estimate of at least 12 percent.=20

At the same time, in order to take into account the postponed release dat=

hits both the PLAYSTATION®Store and Xbox LIVE® Marketplace this
Thursday, January 24, 2008. Devil May Cry 4 has been rated M for Mature
by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB).

The demo introduces gamers to the gothic-inspired supernatural world of
Devil May Cry 4, new protagonist Nero and the awesome power of his Devil
Bringer. The demo consists of a sampling of sections from the full
game, chosen to showcase Devil May Cry 4's varied locales, allowing
gamers to familiarize themselves with Nero's unique abilities. Players
will receive instruction on the various new actions that the Devil

UbiSoft 2008 Preview

I met with Ubisoft the other day and talked to them about the games that they are working on for 2008. I saw a bunch of demos, and played some games. They even brewed a fresh pot of coffee for me.

Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 - It's the 10 year anniversary of the franchise and it returns with a bigger (meaning more game play) story. Due out in March 2008. There's a greater degree of character customization in equipment and experience points can be applied to better weapons. Enemy and squad AI is better. There's been a huge expansion of co-op game play - friends can jump in and out of the game on the fly without restarting levels. It's the same core game play as version 1 with simple team controls. They've worked hard to add verticality to the levels such as looking up and seeing an enemy through a skylight and then having to go outside and climb up onto the roof to get him. There's destructible cover so you can't sit in one spot and hide. You sort of have to think and plan rather than charge right in. There are 7 locations and each location has multiple scenarios.

Far Cry 2 - They set out to keep the best parts of the original. The intention is to keep it real yet exotic so this version takes place in Africa. There's 50 square kilometers of open game world, mostly savanna with some jungle. All objects are coded meaning that nothing is just a stupid graphic so trees grow while you're playing and everything can take damage. There's wind and light from the sun that change as the day progresses. No mission will ever be exactly the same because there's a randomness about how enemies are deployed; they're not always in the same place at the same time. It's fast paced and from what I saw there was a lot of fire which is always a good thing. One fascinating thing that Clint Hocking (Creative Director) brought up is that it is now cheaper in terms of utilizing system resources to create vegetation procedurally than it is to make it animated. The game is due out roughly around holiday 2008. It will be the same game on console as on PC with the PC version having higher resolution.

Petz Bunnyz - This cute little DS game is basically targeted at young girls who want to play with fluffy bunnies at Easter time. It's not my kind of game, but if you have a daughter who wants to raise a virtual bunny and play with it then this would be a hit.

Balance school, social life, and skating while learning how to make different moves using the stylus. I thought it was cute because you can customize outfits and hair styles. This is due out in late February.

Petz Wild Animalz - Tigerz - This Nintendo DS game is about raising 2 baby tigers. You train them and some other animals (monkey, dog, bear, elephant). There are mini-games and you learn a lot about tiger care.

Quick Yoga Training for DS - This is more of a database of yoga facts than a game. THis goes over the basics with lots of text and diagrams, teaches poses. You pick an area of the body that you want to focus on and it tells you how to train it. You set up profiles and build custom training routines. This is due out in April/May 2008.

Independent Data Reveals Nintendo Sales For 2007 Nintendo DS and Wii Finish as
the No. 1 and No. 2 Best-Selling U.S. Systems

REDMOND, Wash., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Nintendo DS(TM) and Wii(TM) finished
strong in 2007, commanding sales in the holiday shopping period and finishing
the year as the two best-selling video game systems in the United States,
according to new data just released by the independent NPD Group. Nintendo DS
was the top-selling U.S. system of 2007, with nearly 8.5 million sold,
including more than 4 million in November and December alone. Wii placed
second, with nearly 6.3 million sold through the year, more than 2.3 million of
which sold in the final two months.
"By the end of 2007 we were sold out of virtually all hardware, and much of
our stock of software and accessories was sold out as well, thanks to the broad
appeal of Wii and Nintendo DS to core gamers, women, families, grandparents -

executive vice president of sales & marketing. "And that momentum continues
here in the early weeks of 2008."
Some additional facts about Nintendo's 2007 performance in the United States

Wii-kly Update: Two New Classic Games Added to Wii Shop Channel

This week you can spend your time carefully planning puzzle strategies or
rescuing a damsel in distress. Help one of the most iconic characters in all of
video gamedom eat some troublesome ghosts or set off to defeat an evil
organization using only your furious fists. The choice is yours. What are you
in the mood for?

Nintendo adds new games to the Wii™ Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every
Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii
Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop
Channel or at retail outlets.

This week’s new games are:

Pac-Attack (Super NES®, 1-2 players, Rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points):
Pac-Man makes a rare appearance outside of a maze environment in Pac-Attack, a
fun and quirky puzzle game. This unique entry in the genre puts its own twist
on established conventions and adds one of gaming’s most iconic characters to
the mix. The goal is simple: Keep your screen clear of falling blocks and
ghosts by lining up blocks horizontally, causing them to disappear. Clearing
the ghosts, though, requires the help of a hungry Pac-Man (who just happens to
swing by every so often for a snack). It’s up to you to get all of the ghosts
lined up for him, because Pac-Man will keep eating them until he is stopped by
a block or he runs out of ghosts. In addition, his range of movement on the
playing field is limited to horizontal or downward—thus adding further
strategy. There are three game modes to choose from: 1 Player Normal, 2 Player
VS., and the challenging 1 Player Puzzle. Feel like gobbling up some ghosts?

Riot Zone (TurboGrafx16 CD-ROM, 1 player, Rated E 10+ for Everyone 10 and Older
– Tobacco Reference, Violence, 800 Wii Points): Riot Zone is a side-scrolling
fighting game that follows two heroes as they fight to take down an evil
organization. The crime syndicate Dragon Zone has kidnapped Hawk’s girlfriend
and it’s up to him and his partner detective, Tony, to get her back. Join
them as they jump “fists first” into the grim Kowloon district. Play as
Hawk or Tony and fight through all five stages in the deadly Kowloon district.
Smash down the Dragon Zone goons in areas like the Harbor, Abandoned Warehouse
and the Ghetto. Both characters have unique skills and attacks. Hawk is a
master of karate, while Tony is a hard-hitter. That being said, both guys are
massive and possess killer techniques. The hard-boiled action is enhanced by

Wii-kly Update: Two New Classic Games Added to Wii Shop Channel

vintage games from way back in the 20th century. This week’s new offerings
include an unpredictable island-hopping adventure and a legendary fighting
